Even the world of motorsport is taking electric car seriously. Since two years ago, electric car racing has been officially inaugurated by FIA in a form of Formula E Championship.

Of cou rse, at this point, we cannot compare Formula E to the legendary Formula 1 Gran Prix. But, who knows, someday we might be able to.

NextEV NIO, the manufacturer of EP9, has its own Formula E racing team. The team's leading driver is the son of a legendary Formula 1 World Champion, Nelson Piquet. In fact, Piquet Jr. won the Driver's Championship of Formula E on its first season with NextEV NIO Formula E Team.

Even though the team only finished fourth that season, the fact that the car they built was able to get Piquet Jr. to win races is a major testimony to NextEV NIO's quality.
