By: Michael Hines - Apr 23, 2017References: carbuzz The Qiantu K50 is an all-electric sports car set to go into production in China. If all goes well the K50, available as both a convertible and a hardtop coupe with a rooftop solar panels, could see a worldwide launch. On paper the Qiantu K50 looks like a car with global appeal. Powering it are two electric motors (one on each axle) making a combined 408 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque. Qiantu says its car will do 0-62 mph in 4.6 seconds. Under normal driving conditions max range will be about 250 miles.
Inside the Qiantu K50 is a mix of BMW and Tesla, at least judging by the gauge cluster screen and the massive 15.6-inch infotainment touchscreen in the center console. There's also a healthy amount of imitation in the exterior. The Qiantu K50 looks a bit like a McLaren and also features shades of the Audi R8 in its styling. Pricing and production numbers were not revealed in Shanghai, meaning it may be a while before the electric sports car hits the streets.
